There was an upset in Walbrzych where higher ranked Gornik (7-7) was edged by fourteenth ranked Biofarm PZN (5-9) 72-70 on Saturday. Strangely Gornik outrebounded Biofarm PZN 45-25 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mikolaj Kurpisz (202-98) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Maciej Rostalski (198-90) chipped in 9 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Biofarm PZN players scored in double figures. Biofarm PZN's coach Pawel Blechacz used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Swingman Hubert Kruszczynski (187-95) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and the former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (210-93) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks. Biofarm PZN moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Pruszkow and STK Czarni. Newly promoted Gornik keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Biofarm PZN will face higher ranked Polonia Leszno (#3) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
