Regular Season Round 14: Hagen-Haspe - Hagen BG 72-90

Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Hagen: Hagen BG (#5) and Hagen-Haspe (#8). Hagen-Haspe was smashed at home by 18 points 72-90 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hagen-Haspe. The best player for the winners was American forward Salathiel Ligons (201-84) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Soeren Fritze (190-94) chipped in 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Hagen BG's coach Kosta Filippou used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Tre Ivory (180-96, college: Austin Peay St.) produced 15 points and Marco Braun (198-97) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Hagen BG and four Hagen-Haspe players scored in double figures. Hagen BG (9-4) moved-up to third place in West, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Hagen-Haspe keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. Hagen BG will meet league's second-placed Dorsten on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hagen-Haspe will play against the league's leader Duesseldorf (#1) and hope to secure a win.
