Regular Season Round 13: Braila - Medias 42-113

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Braila. Second ranked Medias faced 4th placed Braila. Guests from Medias (7-2) smashed host Braila (0-9) 113-42. The game without a history. Medias led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 96 of its points in the paint compared to Braila's 32. Medias forced 32 Braila turnovers and outrebounded them 46-24 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 38 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Braila's players. Serbian Andrija Simovic (203-95) nailed 35 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (on 17-of-20 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Serbian Stefan Sajin (205-93) accounted for 18 points and 8 rebounds. Five Medias players scored in double figures. Guard Florin Voiculet came up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and Alexandru Marin added 6 points respectively for Braila in the defeat. Braila's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Medias have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Newly promoted Medias maintains second place with 7-2 record behind leader Voluntari, which they share with Sibiu. Braila at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with nine games lost. Medias' next round opponent will be league's leader Voluntari and it will be for sure the game of the week. Braila will play against Constanta and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
