Regular Season Round 13: Ostrava - Pardubice 83-70

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Pardubice (6-7) lost on the road to ninth ranked Ostrava (5-8) 83-70 on Sunday. Ostrava forced 20 Pardubice turnovers. Strangely Pardubice outrebounded Ostrava 43-25 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Pardubice was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for forward Matej Snopek (195-0) who helped to win the game recording 23 points. Forward Jakub Zikl (200) contributed with 12 points and 4 steals for the winners. Five Ostrava players scored in double figures. Ostrava's coach Patrik Smazak used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Ondrej Vycha (196-99) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and forward Michal Svoboda (190-99) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Pardubice. Ostrava moved-up to eighth place in East, which they share with Sokol Slapanice. Loser Pardubice keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Ostrava will face Sokol Slapanice (#9) in Slapnice in the next round.
