Regular Season Round 22: Liaoning - Fujian 64-63

A very close game took place in Anshan between Liaoning Hengye and Fujian Nanan. Fourteenth ranked Liaoning Hengye (6-16) got a very close home victory over 15th ranked Fujian Nanan (5-17). Liaoning Hengye managed to escape with a 1-point win 64-63 on Monday evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Liaoning Hengye made 8 blocks. Forward Jiamei Liang (182-92) notched 25 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and guard TingTing Wang (175-91) supported her with 17 points (made all of her nine free throws !!!). Liaoning Hengye's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds by American center Alicia DeVaughn (193-91, college: Maryland, agency: ProDep Management) did not help to save the game for Fujian Nanan. Qingrong Lin added 15 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Liaoning Hengye moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Zhejiang. Newly promoted Fujian Nanan keeps the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. Liaoning Hengye will meet at home higher ranked Blue Whales (#9) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Fujian Nanan will play against Swordfish (#10) and hope to secure a win.
