Regular Season Round 15: Angers - Lourdes 56-69

There was an upset when second-best Etoile Angers (9-5) lost on the road to twelfth ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (4-9) 69-56 on Tuesday. It was a good game for center Alexis Thomas (196-95) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 22 rebounds. Point guard Kevin Thalien (190-92) contributed with 20 points for the winners. American center Kyle Tresnak (209-92, college: Weber St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and DR Congolese swingman Shekinah Munanga (201-97) added 5 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Etoile Angers. Lourdes-Tarbes maintains twelfth place in Group B with 4-9 record. Newly promoted Etoile Angers dropped to the third position with five games lost. Lourdes-Tarbes will face higher ranked La Rochelle (#9) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Etoile Angers will play against the league's leader Vendee Challans (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
