There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Chinese Zhuhai (1-8) beat at home 7th ranked Indonesian CLS Knights (2-6) 96-88 on Wednesday. They outrebounded CLS Knights 37-25 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Zhuhai looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was center Chen Cai (205-93) who scored 25 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. American forward Michael Bell (206-82, college: Florida Atlantic) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 19 rebounds. American-Nigerian power forward Maxie Esho (206-91, college: Massachusetts, agency: Two Points) produced 26 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and American guard Montay Brandon (203-93, college: Florida St.) added 23 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Five Zhuhai and four CLS Knights players scored in double figures. Zhuhai maintains tenth position with 1-8 record. It was CLS Knights' fourth loss in a row. They keep the seventh place with six games lost. Zhuhai will face higher ranked SM Beermen (#5) in Manila in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
