Regular Season Round 11: Skallagrimur - Njardvik 82-89

Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Skallagrimur (2-9) lost to second ranked Njardvik (10-1) in Borganes 82-89. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Skallagrimur won third quarter 21-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Njardvik players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a great evening for international point guard Elvar Fridriksson (180-94, college: Barry, agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. American point guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) helped adding 21 points and 9 assists. Point guard Bjorgvin Rikhardsson (192-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists and Croatian forward Matej Buovac (201-93, college: Sacred Heart) scored 24 points. Four Skallagrimur players scored in double figures. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Njardvik. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Tindastoll. Skallagrimur lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with nine games lost. Njardvik will play against Keflavik (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Skallagrimur will play against KR (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
