Regular Season Round 11: Chartres - Gries/Oberhoffen 87-91

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Gries/Oberhoffen (7-4) beat on the road 16th ranked C'Chartres (3-8) 91-87 on Saturday. Gries/Oberhoffen looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Evan Yates (198-91, college: Ashland) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). Spanish forward Asier Zengotitabengoa (199-88) helped adding 18 points and 7 assists. Yates is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Gries/Oberhoffen players scored in double figures. Gries/Oberhoffen's coach Ludovic Pouillart used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Jaysean Paige (188-94, college: W.Virginia, agency: Inception Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 assists and Stephane Gombauld (202-97) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Gries/Oberhoffen moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Nancy and Saint-Chamond. C'Chartres at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixteenth position with eight games lost. Gries/Oberhoffen will face higher ranked JA Vichy (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. C'Chartres will play against Lille Metropole (#12) and hope to win that game.
