Very expected game when 12th ranked Lanzarote (5-8) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Alcobendas (9-4) 88-74 on Saturday. Power forward Roberto Morentin (204-81, college: Cent.Florida) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward David Marina (202-88) chipped in 19 points during the contest. Alcobendas' coach Jose Antonio Ramirez allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Aziz Leeks (203-95, college: Idaho Coll.) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and forward Javier Herreros (198-94) scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Alcobendas moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with Tenerife Naut. Loser Lanzarote keeps the twelfth position with eight games lost. Alcobendas will face CB Guadalajara (#5) at home in the next round.
