Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Thailand Mono Vampire (1-5) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat (6-4) 87-76 on Saturday. Saigon Heat had a 38-26 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Saigon Heat made 7 blocks. Mono Vampire was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American center Kyle Barone (203-89, college: Idaho) who had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds. Canadian Murphy Burnatowski (196-91, college: Colgate) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Michael Singletary (198-88, college: Texas Tech) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and Filipino-American point guard Jason Brickman (181-91, college: LIU Brooklyn) added 21 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Mono Vampire's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Saigon Heat moved-up to third place. Loser Mono Vampire keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Saigon Heat will face again Mono Vampire (#9) in Bangkok in the next round where they are favorite. Mono Vampire will play on the road against Hong Kong ELL and hope to win that game.
