Regular Season Round 14: Alginet - Valencia II 67-69

A very interesting game took place in Alginet. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 4th ranked Alginet (7-5) to second ranked Valencia-2 (11-1) 69-67 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Alginet. Jon Galarza (193-97) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Alejandro Rivas (203-98) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Center Luis Verdeguer-Ferrer (205-87) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and Pablo Sanchez (-93) added 7 points and 7 assists in the effort for Alginet. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Valencia-2 have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group E-A leader, which they share with Lliria. Newly promoted Alginet keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
