Regular Season Round 16: Walter Tigers - Trier 89-81
Date: December 23, 2018
We should mention about the upset which took place in Tuebingen, where higher ranked Gladiators (8-8) lost to thirteenth ranked Walter Tigers (7-9) in a road game 81-89. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gladiators. It was a great shooting night for Walter Tigers especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. The winners were led by American point guard Tyler Laser (185-88, college: E.Illinois) who scored that evening 22 points and 9 assists and the other American import point guard Reed Timmer (185-95, college: Drake) supported him with 25 points and 5 rebounds. Even 22 points and 7 rebounds by power forward Till Gloger (204-93, college: Maine) did not help to save the game for Gladiators. Power forward Johannes Joos (206-95) added 14 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gladiators' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Walter Tigers moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Art.Dragons. Gladiators at the other side keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Walter Tigers' next round opponent will be higher ranked Nuernberg (#10) on the road and it may be quite challenging game.
