Regular Season Round 19: Iwate Big Bulls - Gifu Swoops 62-65

A very interesting game took place in Iwate. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 9th ranked Iwate Big Bulls (5-19) to fifth ranked Gifu Swoops (9-15) 65-62 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Iwate Big Bulls. Ito Ryota fired 28 points and 4 assists for the winners. American Bingo Merriex (206-80, college: TCU) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Tatsunori Fujie (184-87) produced 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American center Marcus Cousin (211-86, college: Houston) added 10 points and 16 rebounds respectively for lost side. Iwate Big Bulls' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Gifu Swoops maintains fifth place with 9-15 record. Iwate Big Bulls at the other side keep the ninth position with 19 games lost. Gifu Swoops' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Koshigaya A. in Tokyo and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Iwate Big Bulls will play on the road against Aisin AW (#6) in Aichi and hope to win that game.
