Regular Season Round 7: Olimpi - Kutaisi 82-87

Leader Kutaisi delivered the sixth victory. This time they beat 6th ranked Olimpi (3-4) 87-82 in Tbilisi. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Olimpi. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Olimpi won fourth quarter 27-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Akaki Dvalishvili (207-91) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 9 rebounds. The former international Levan Patsatsia (198-88, college: Troy) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Kutaisi players scored in double figures. American forward Mark Ogden (208-94, college: Dixie St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import point guard Tre Bennett (178-92, college: Angelo St.) added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Olimpi. Kutaisi have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-1 record. Olimpi at the other side dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Kutaisi will play against Batumi (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Olimpi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Mgzavrebi.
