Regular Season Round 14: Timberwolves - Klosterneuburg 77-85
Date: December 29, 2018
The game in Vienna was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Dukes (9-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Timberwolves (7-7). Dukes managed to secure a 8-point victory 85-77 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Timberwolves won third quarter 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dukes looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international forward Maximilian Hopfgartner (206-92, college: John Brown, agency: Dynamics Global Management) notched 26 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Bosnian power forward Edin Bavcic (209-84, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds by Serbian center Marko Kolaric (213-84, college: Chaminade) did not help to save the game for Timberwolves. Bosnian forward Nemanja Nikolic (202-89) added 15 points for the hosts. Four Timberwolves players scored in double figures. Dukes moved-up to third place, which they share with Arkadia and Kapfenberg. Newly promoted Timberwolves keep the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Vienna. Dukes will meet at home league's leader Gmunden Swans in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Timberwolves will play against the league's second-placed Gunners Oberwart (#2) and hope to secure a win.
