Rather expected game in Ankara where 5th ranked Galatasaray (7-5) was defeated by third ranked Turk Telekom (9-3) 87-81 on Saturday. Turk Telekom looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American Kenny Gabriel (209-89, college: Auburn) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import point guard TJ Campbell (175-88, college: Portland) chipped in 20 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Turk Telekom's coach Burak Goren used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Nigel Hayes (203-94, college: Wisconsin) produced 17 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and Croatian power forward Marko Arapovic (207-96) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Turk Telekom and four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. Turk Telekom have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Anadolu Efes. Loser Galatasaray keeps the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Besiktas. Turk Telekom will meet Darussafaka (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Galatasaray will play against Buyukcekmece (#9) and hope to secure a win.
