There was no surprise when 12th ranked Tormes (4-11) was outleveled on the road by eighth ranked Plasencia (7-8) 85-51 on Saturday. Plasencia dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Tormes' 26 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Plasencia forced 23 Tormes turnovers. It was a good game for American-Jamaican Duane Morgan (198-93, college: Adelphi) who led his team to a victory with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Mario Alvarez (196-91) contributed with 15 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Plasencia players scored in double figures. Naturalized British guard Andrew Ramirez (188-97, college: Hartford) answered with 13 points and 4 assists and center Osas Ehigiator (207-99) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Tormes. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Plasencia maintains eighth place in Silver with 7-8 record. Newly promoted Tormes keeps the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Plasencia will face higher ranked Navarra (#4) in Pamplona in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tormes will play at home against Baskonia (#9) and hope to win that game.
