Regular Season Round 20: Gifu Swoops - Koshigaya A. 77-61

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Koshigaya A. (21-5) against fifth ranked Gifu Swoops (10-16) on Saturday night. Visiting Koshigaya A. was defeated by Gifu Swoops in Gifu 77-61. The winners were led by Canadian center Michael Allison (206-90, college: Maine) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds and Ito Ryota supported him with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 27 points and 18 rebounds by American Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) did not help to save the game for Koshigaya A.. Point guard Ryo Narumi (170-87) added 11 points and 5 assists for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gifu Swoops have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Gifu Swoops went down to sixth position due to points difference. Koshigaya A. at the other side keeps the second place with five games lost. Gifu Swoops will again play against league's second-placed Koshigaya A. in Tokyo in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Koshigaya A. will have a break next round.
