Regular Season Round 15: Focsani - Agronomia Buc. 85-66

Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Focsani (9-6) smashed at home 8th ranked Agronomia Buc. (4-10) 85-66 on Saturday. The game without a history. Focsani led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Focsani outrebounded Agronomia Buc. 51-31 including a 36-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Kyle Kilgore (201, college: Dakota St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Sergiu Pop (197-91) helped adding 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was point guard Gheorghe Balmus (180-92) with 27 points and 6 rebounds and Matei Bodea (195-2) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Focsani maintains fifth place with 9-6 record. Agronomia Buc. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Focsani will face league's leader Phoenix Galati on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Agronomia Buc. will play against Targu Jiu (#3) and hope to win that game.
