Eighth-ranked Lecco (7-6) made lots of trouble for first ranked Faenza (12-2) on Sunday. The visitors from Faenza managed to secure only two-point victory 75-73. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Lecco. They outrebounded Lecco 40-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was point guard Mattia Venucci (188-90) who scored 23 points. Swingman Gioacchino Chiappelli (198-91) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Alberto Cacace (198-96) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists and power forward Luigi Brunetti (205-88) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Lecco players scored in double figures. Faenza have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position in B with 12-2 record. Lecco at the other side dropped to the ninth place with six games lost. Faenza are looking forward to face Tessilform Bernareggio (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
