Regular Season Round 14: IUL Tiber - Salerno 73-95

Date: December 30, 2018
No shocking result in a game in Roma where second ranked Salerno (12-2) smashed 9th ranked IUL Tiber (6-8) 95-73 on Sunday. Salerno made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was forward Lorenzo Tortu (200-92) who scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. Massimiliano Sanna (195-88) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Five Salerno players scored in double figures. Power forward Alessandro Cecchetti (200-91) produced 17 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Giuliano Maresca (192-80) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Salerno keeps a position of B leader, which they share with Faenza. Loser IUL Tiber dropped to the tenth place with eight games lost. Salerno will face Pozzuoli (#13) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. IUL Tiber will play against Valmontone and hope to win that game.
