Regular Season Round 8: Astana Tigers - Tsmoki-Minsk 49-68

No shocking result in a game when top-ranked Belarusian Tsmoki-Minsk (6-0) crushed on the road 11th ranked Kazakhstan Astana Tigers (1-5) 68-49 on Saturday. The game without a history. Tsmoki-Minsk led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Tsmoki-Minsk forced 19 Astana Tigers turnovers. The winners were led by American Danielle McCray (186-87, college: Kansas) who scored that evening 15 points and center Viktoryia Hasper (192-88) supported her with 6 points and 11 rebounds. Even 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by guard Tamara Yagodkina (181-90) did not help to save the game for Astana Tigers. Center Anna Vinokurova (192-92) added 10 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tsmoki-Minsk have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending Belarusian champion maintains second position with 6-0 record despite having the same number of points like the leader TTT Riga. Defending Kazakhstan champion Astana Tigers dropped to the twelfth place with five games lost. They share the position with SBS Ostrava. Tsmoki-Minsk will meet at home BC Rostov (#5) in the next round. Astana Tigers will play against SBS Ostrava (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
