The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Voluntari as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Voluntari smashed 4th ranked Braila at home 126-40. The game without a history. Voluntari led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 96 of its points in the paint compared to Braila's 26. Voluntari forced 44 Braila turnovers and outrebounded them 46-26 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Braila's players. American guard Trey Zeigler (196-91, college: TCU, agency: BeoExcell) fired 30 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Tudor Girbea (193-98) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Five Voluntari players scored in double figures. Guard Florin Voiculet produced 11 points and 5 rebounds and Dragos Grozea (-1) added 8 points respectively for lost side. Braila's coach Catalin Stefanescu gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Voluntari have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Braila at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
