Regular Season Round 23: Tokyo Big Blue - Toyoda Gosei 93-97

Bottom-ranked Tokyo Big Blue is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 16th consecutive match to fourth ranked Toyoda Gosei (12-4) 97-93. Toyoda Gosei players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Tokyo Big Blue was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American-Irish Brian Voelkel (196-92, college: Vermont) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 25 points, 23 rebounds and 11 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). American Patrick Simon (203-92, college: Seattle Pacific) helped adding 18 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Bryan Simpson (197-84) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Toyoda Gosei and four Tokyo Big Blue players scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Toyoda Gosei. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Aisin AW and Koshigaya A. Tokyo Big Blue lost their sixteenth game in a row. They still close the standings. Toyoda Gosei will play against Iwate Big Bulls (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tokyo Big Blue will have a break next round.
