Regular Season Round 12: Keflavik - Njardvik 85-88

Important game to mention about took place in Keflavik. First ranked Njardvik (11-1) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 3rd ranked Keflavik (8-4) 88-85 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Keflavik. It looked good early as Keflavik took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Njardvik had a 28-11 second period charge getting the lead and Keflavik was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 85-88. Njardvik made 22-of-25 charity shots (88.0 percent) during the game. The winners were led by international point guard Elvar Fridriksson (180-94, college: Barry, agency: Inception Sports) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 32 points and 12 rebounds and American point guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) supported him with 17 points and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 34 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 4 assists by American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU, agency: Inception Sports) did not help to save the game for Keflavik. Lithuanian forward Mindaugas Kacinas (204-93, college: S.Carolina, agency: Octagon Europe) added 20 points and 8 rebounds. Four Keflavik players scored in double figures. Njardvik have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-1 record. Keflavik at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. They share the position with KR and Stjarnan. Njardvik will play against Thor Thorl (#6) in Thorlakshofn in the next round where they are favorite. Keflavik will play on the road against KR in Reykjavik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
