Very expected game in Dik El Mehdi where 8th ranked Atlas F. (2-6) was defeated by third ranked Champville (6-2) 97-89 on Monday. Atlas F. trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 31-22 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 89-97 at the end of the game. Champville dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Atlas F.'s 46. They outrebounded Atlas F. 34-21 including 22 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Fadi El-Khatib (198-79) who scored 27 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Demarius Bolds (193-84, college: Missouri Western) chipped in 28 points. Bolds is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Champville players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Darian Townes (208-84, college: Arkansas) who recorded 36 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Jordan Downing (196-92, college: Presbyterian) added 24 points respectively. Champville have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Homentmen. Newly promoted Atlas F. keeps the eighth position with six games lost.
