Regular Season Round 17: Azuqueca - Vic 95-87

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Vic (5-12) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Azuqueca (9-8) 95-87 on Saturday. Vic was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Nigerian forward Jeffrey Solarin (193-92, college: Idaho St.) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Carlos Garcia (200-89) chipped in 19 points. American forward Kyle Benton (201-95, college: N.C.Central) produced 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Panamanian forward Pablo Rivas (198-94, college: N.C.Central) added 19 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Azuqueca maintains sixth place in Silver with 9-8 record. Vic at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Azuqueca will face league's second-placed Real Murcia on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vic will play against Villarrobledo (#3) and hope to win that game.
