Regular Season Round 16: Aridane - Daimiel 102-105
Date: January 12, 2019
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 15th ranked Aridane (4-10) was edged by sixteenth ranked Daimiel (4-11) in Los Llanos 105-102 on Saturday. Quite impressive performance for American forward Julian Lewis (196-92, college: Lewis) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Sergio Hervas (184-92) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Mali-American power forward Nouhoum Bocoum (207-92, college: Arkansas St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Corey Raley-Ross (191-91, college: Buffalo) added 22 points in the effort for Aridane. Five Daimiel and four Aridane players scored in double figures. Aridane's coach Carlos Garcia tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Daimiel maintains sixteenth position in Group B with 4-11 record. Aridane lost seventh consecutive game. Aridane at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifteenth place with ten games lost. Daimiel will face higher ranked Quintanar (#6) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
