Regular Season Round 11: Saigon H. - Hong Kong ELL 99-91

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat (8-4) defeated at home 7th ranked Hong Kong Hong Kong ELL (4-9) 99-91 on Sunday. Saigon Heat made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American-Puerto Rican point guard TreVon Hughes (185-87, college: Wisconsin) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points and 8 rebounds. American center Kyle Barone (203-89, college: Idaho) helped adding 26 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) responded with 28 points and 8 rebounds and Maltese center Samuel Deguara (223-91) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Five Saigon Heat and four Hong Kong ELL players scored in double figures. Hong Kong ELL's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Saigon Heat keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Singapore S. and Formosa D. Hong Kong ELL lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with nine games lost. Saigon Heat will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hong Kong ELL will play against Macau (#5) and hope to secure a win.
