An interesting game took place in Beijing where higher ranked Beijing Great Wall (23-10) was upset on its own court by tenth ranked Blue Whales (17-16) 76-69 on Wednesday. Blue Whales looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Belarusian center Yelena Leuchanka (196-83, college: W.Virginia) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 19 rebounds and 8 assists. Yuyu Chen chipped in 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was international Ting Shao (183-89) who recorded 16 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international Song Gao (188-92) added 19 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Beijing Great Wall's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Blue Whales. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Henan. Defending champion Beijing Great Wall keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. Blue Whales will meet Tianjin (#17) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Beijing Great Wall will play against Flame (#8) in Taiyuan and hope to secure a win.
