Regular Season Round 12: MZT Skopje - Blokotehna 97-90

The biggest surprise took place in Skopje where host MZT Skopje (9-2) beat league's leader Blokotehna (9-2) 97-90 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Blokotehna. It was a key game for the second position in the league. MZT Skopje made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Blokotehna helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Andrej Magdevski (192-96) who scored 18 points, 9 assists and 4 steals (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Serbian Andrija Bojic (207-93, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 17 points. MZT Skopje's coach Gjorgi Kocov used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian power forward Danilo Mijatovic (206-83) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and guard Goran Glavchev (191-93) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. MZT Skopje have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Blokotehna. Blokotehna will play next round against Feni Industries trying to make it back to the top of the standings. MZT Skopje will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Shkupi. It will be extra interesting game as Shkupi is their local rival from Skopje.
