Regular Season Round 20: Timberwolves - Kapfenberg 75-84
Date: January 24, 2019
The game in Vienna was also quite interesting. Third ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (14-6) played at the court of 7th ranked Timberwolves (8-12). Kapfenberg Bulls managed to secure a 9-point victory 84-75 on Thursday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-13. But Timberwolves won second period 26-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Timberwolves 46-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. Kapfenberg Bulls looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by Serbian point guard Bogic Vujosevic (190-92) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists and American guard Marck Coffin (193-91, college: Idaho Coll.) supported him with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Even a double-double of 16 points, 17 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals by Serbian center Marko Kolaric (213-84, college: Chaminade) did not help to save the game for Timberwolves. American-Italian swingman Joe Scott (192-88, college: St.Thomas) added 20 points and 6 assists for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kapfenberg Bulls have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 14-6 record behind leader Gmunden. Newly promoted Timberwolves keep the seventh place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Wels. Kapfenberg Bulls will meet at home league's leader Gmunden Swans in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Timberwolves will play against UBSC Graz (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
