The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Perth Wildcats as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Perth Wildcats smashed 5th ranked Adelaide 36ers at home 100-81. They outrebounded Adelaide 36ers 42-30 including 27 on the defensive glass. Perth Wildcats looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was international power forward Nick Kay (206-92, college: MSU Denver) who scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international guard Damian Martin (186-84, college: Loyola Mary) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jacob Wiley (203-94, college: E.Washington) who recorded 18 points and 6 rebounds and Sudanese forward Majok Deng (208-93, college: La-Monroe) added 19 points respectively. Five Perth Wildcats and four Adelaide 36ers players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Perth Wildcats have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Adelaide 36ers at the other side keep the fifth place with 12 games lost. Adelaide 36ers will play next round against Cairns Taipans trying to get back on the winning streak. Perth Wildcats will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Illawarra Hawks in Gwynneville.
