There was no surprise when 13th ranked Leyma Basquet (8-13) lost to tenth ranked Palma (11-9) in S'Arenal 72-84 on Sunday. Palma outrebounded Leyma Basquet 43-25 including 29 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by center Fran Guerra (214-92) who scored that evening 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Federico Ucles (204-93) supported him with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Palma players scored in double figures. Even 17 points by American guard Ty Sabin (190-94, college: Ripon, agency: Duran International) did not help to save the game for Leyma Basquet. Center Jhonatan Araujo (208-96) added 12 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Leyma Basquet's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Palma have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Palencia and Valladolid. Leyma Basquet lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. Palma will meet Carramimbre (#9) in the next round. Leyma Basquet will play against CB Prat (#18) and hope to secure a win.
