There was an upset when higher ranked Goierri (4-10) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Solares (2-12) 87-71 on Sunday. Solares outrebounded Goierri 47-30 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Sergio Garcia (195-95) who scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American power forward RJ Freeman (205-95, college: Pikeville) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. Freeman is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Telmo Igartua (184-97) who recorded 17 points and 5 rebounds and guard Aitor De-Miguel (186-83) added 9 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Solares moved-up to thirteenth place in Group A-A, which they share with Ordizia-Basoa. Goierri at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Solares will face league's second-placed Ardoi in Zizur Mayor in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
