Regular Season Round 19: La Fecha - Univ.Burgos 55-73

No shocking result in a game when first ranked Univ.Burgos (14-1) beat 9th ranked La Fecha (5-11) in Arroyo Encomienda 73-55 on Saturday. Univ.Burgos dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to La Fecha's 22. They outrebounded La Fecha 54-36 including a 38-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for guard Francisco Pomares (192-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Center Mario Tobar (200-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Jorge Martinez (185-96) answered with 15 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and guard Alan Morchon (185-99) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for La Fecha. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Univ.Burgos. They maintain first place in Group A-A with 14-1 record. La Fecha lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. Univ.Burgos will face bottom-ranked Goierri (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. La Fecha will play against Mondragon and hope to win that game.
