Regular Season Round 22: Toulouse - Lorient 72-78

Rather expected game when 11th ranked Toulouse (9-12) lost at home to ninth ranked Lorient (12-10) 78-72 on Saturday. Lorient outrebounded Toulouse 42-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Quite impressive performance for center Vincent Pourchot (222-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 19 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). American forward Zach Brown (198-95, college: Wichita St.) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Lorient players scored in double figures. Naturalized Guyanese Mike Joseph (203-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and guard Pascal Tajan (191-91) added 22 points in the effort for Toulouse. Toulouse's coach Stephane Dao rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lorient moved-up to seventh place in Group B. Newly promoted Toulouse keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Lorient will face league's leader Vendee Challans on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Toulouse will play against La Rochelle (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
