Regular Season Round 19: Aridane - Alcobendas 83-90

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Aridane (6-11) lost to fourth ranked Alcobendas (13-4) in Los Llanos 83-90 on Saturday. Alcobendas made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Aridane was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for guard Gabriel Diaz-Morera (197-89) who helped to win the game recording 31 points. Center Pablo Rodrigo (204-86) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Mali-American power forward Nouhoum Bocoum (207-92, college: Arkansas St.) answered with 17 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Eudaldo Gonzalez (193-93) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Aridane. Four Alcobendas and five Aridane players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Alcobendas. They moved-up to third place in Group B. Newly promoted Aridane keeps the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Alcobendas will face Quintanar (#5) at home in the next round. Aridane will play against Lanzarote (#10) in Arrecife and hope to win that game.
