Regular Season Round 26: Khimik-2 - Rivne 72-79

An interesting game for Rivne-OSHVSM (18-3) which played road game in Yuzhny against one of their biggest challengers Khimik-2 (16-7). Second ranked Rivne-OSHVSM managed to get a 7-point victory 79-72. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Khimik-2. Rivne-OSHVSM dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Khimik-2's 24. They outrebounded Khimik-2 49-33 including 17 on the offensive glass. Center Valeriy Anisimov (210-90) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Yevgen Koroviyakov (199-88) chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Rivne-OSHVSM's coach Mikhail Pereverziy allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Artem Kovalov (202-97, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Dmytro Holovchyk (187-0) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rivne-OSHVSM have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-3 record having ten points less than leader Ternopil-TNEU. Khimik-2 at the other side keeps the third place with seven games lost.
