Al Muharraq held off Al Ittihad to take 1-0 lead in the series. Al-Muharraq looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Ahmed Aldurazi who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international center Chester Giles (211-85, college: Oregon St.) contributed with 8 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Four Al-Muharraq players scored in double figures. Bosnian-Serbian center Mile Ilic (215-84) answered with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 22 rebounds and Sayed-Mohd Hameed added 20 points in the effort for Al-Ittihad.
