Fifth-ranked Hallmann (11-12) was very close to win a game against second ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (16-7) on Saturday. Kapfenberg Bulls managed to secure only two-point victory 81-79. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hallmann. The hosts trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 26-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. They outrebounded Hallmann 43-27 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Xavier Ford (203-93, college: Buffalo, agency: Mansfield and Associates) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Elijah Wilson (193-94, college: Co.Carolina, agency: Mansfield and Associates) contributed with 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international Jason Detrick (195-80, college: Oklahoma) answered with 26 points and American power forward David Haughton (198-91, college: Purchase) added 19 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Hallmann. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains second place with 16-7 record behind leader Gmunden, which they share with Oberwart. Hallmann at the other side keeps the fifth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Arkadia. Kapfenberg Bulls is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hallmann will play against UBSC Graz (#9) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
