Regular Season Round 20: Elchingen - Rhoendorf 78-70

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (4-16) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Elchingen (11-9) 78-70 on Saturday. Elchingen dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Dragons Rhoendorf's 32. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian forward Jere Vucica (206-92, college: Miami, OH, agency: Court Side) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 rebounds and forward Brian Butler (196-91) who added 18 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) during the contest. Four Elchingen players scored in double figures. American point guard Kwan Waller (183-89, college: Ky Wesleyan) responded with 15 points and 4 steals and Lithuanian center Zygimantas Riauka (205-93, college: Wisc.-Parkside) scored 8 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Elchingen moved-up to fourth place in South, which they share with Fraport SKY II. Dragons Rhoendorf lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with 16 games lost. Elchingen will face Loewen (#8) in Erfurt in the next round. Dragons Rhoendorf will play at home against OrangeAcademy and hope to win that game.
