There was a small surprise in Athens where fourteenth ranked Marousi (6-11) defeated 12th ranked Koroivos (7-10) 75-70 on Saturday. Center Emmanouil Chatzidakis (205-0) stepped up and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and point guard Orfeas Stasinos (183-98) chipped in 12 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Marousi's coach Kostas Keramidas used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Latvian point guard Toms Leimanis (190-94) responded with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Giannis Kaponis (194-94) scored 16 points and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Marousi moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Apollon Patras. Loser Koroivos dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. Marousi will face league's second-placed Iraklis in Thessaloniki in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
