There was no surprise in Gevgelija where 10th ranked Pelister Bitola (1-12) was defeated by sixth ranked Kozuv (7-7) 73-68 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Kozuv made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Nikola Karakolev (197-87) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. Serbian power forward Vladimir Ivelja (204-88) helped adding 14 points and 10 rebounds. Four Kozuv players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Montenegrin center Miko Golubovic (206-82, agency: Global Sports Plaza) with 21 points and 5 rebounds and American swingman Gabe Bealer (198-95, college: Utah) scored 20 points. Pelister Bitola's coach Predrag Sozovski tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Kozuv maintains sixth place with 7-7 record. Pelister Bitola lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with 12 games lost. Kozuv will meet Kumanovo (#7) on the road in the next round. Pelister Bitola will play against Shkupi (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
