Rather predictable result in Tokyo where third ranked Toyota Alvark (28-12) defeated 6th ranked Shiga L-Stars (8-32) 70-65 on Sunday. Toyota Alvark made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and guard Seiya Ando (184-92) who added 18 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Nigerian-American power forward Gani Lawal (206-88, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 18 rebounds and American forward Marqus Blakely (201-88, college: Vermont) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Toyota Alvark have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 28-12 record having five points less than leader Ryukyu GK. Shiga L-Stars lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 32 games lost. Toyota Alvark will face Toyama Grouses (#4) at home in the next round.
