Regular Season Round 40: Zhejiang Ch. - Guangsha L. 113-102

An interesting game took place in Hangzhou, where higher ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (28-10) lost to eleventh ranked Golden Bulls (20-19) in a road game 102-113. Golden Bulls dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Zhejiang Guangsha Lions' 42. Golden Bulls forced 20 Zhejiang Guangsha Lions turnovers and outrebounded them 48-37 including 19 on the offensive glass. Golden Bulls players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Zhejiang Guangsha Lions helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by American guard Marcus Denmon (191-90, college: Missouri, agency: BeoBasket) who scored that evening 41 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and the other American import guard Brandon Paul (193-91, college: Illinois, agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 19 points and 17 rebounds by Greek center Ioannis Bourousis (214-83) did not help to save the game for Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. Sun Minghui added 19 points, 13 assists and 4 steals for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Golden Bulls have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Guangzhou LL. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions at the other side keep the fourth position with ten games lost. Golden Bulls' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Guandong Tigers in Dongguan and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will play at home against Sharks and hope to win that game.
