Regular Season Round 10: BC Titebi - Dinamo Tbilisi 62-86
Date: February 13, 2019
Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: Dinamo Tbilisi (#2) and BC Titebi (#7). BC Titebi was smashed at home by 24 points 62-86 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The game without a history. Dinamo Tbilisi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American forward Jordan Swopshire (201-95, college: Colgate) scored 25 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Croatian center Domagoj Bubalo (212-91, agency: PEPI SPORT) chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Dinamo Tbilisi players scored in double figures. At the losing side international power forward Ilia Londaridze (205-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Kaheem Ransom (185-93, college: Sam Houston St.) scored 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dinamo Tbilisi (8-2) have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion (8-2) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Kutaisi. Newly promoted BC Titebi keeps the seventh place with six games lost. Dinamo Tbilisi will meet league's leader Kutaisi on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BC Titebi's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Olimpi.
