Seventh-ranked E.N. Paralimni (5-12) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Apollon (9-8) in Limassol on Wednesday. Apollon managed to secure only three-point victory 80-77. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-77. American forward Cameron Naylor (201-94, college: Texas St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Javion Ogunyemi (207-95, college: Siena) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Naylor is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Adonis Filer (195-93, college: Florida Atlantic) responded with 23 points and 6 assists and American-Nigerian Mike Balogun (195-91, college: Arkansas Tech) scored 25 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Apollon maintains fourth place with 9-8 record. E.N. Paralimni at the other side keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Omonia. Apollon will meet league's second-placed AEK Larnaca on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. E.N. Paralimni will play against Etha (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
