Bayi eased past Shanghai in Game 1. Bayi Kylin dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Swordfish's 38 and made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Swordfish 36-22 including 24 on the defensive glass. Bayi Kylin players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. International Meng Li (185-95) stepped up and scored 22 points and 8 assists for the winners and international Mengran Sun (197-92) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side Montenegrin center Jelena Dubljevic (191-87, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and center Zhiting Zhang (196) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
